Memorial Day Ceremony
Sunset Beach Town Park, May 30, 2016

The Town of Sunset Beach hosted the 2016 Memorial Day Ceremony that featured keynote speaker Jon David, North Carolina 13th District-District Attorney.  Mayor Ron Watts officiated with an invocation by BCSO Chaplain Monte Bartlett.   Committee Chairman Gordon Coulson and 1st Vice Chairman John Corbett conducted the flag raising that featured the addition of Prisoner of War flag, followed by the pledge of allegiance and Linda Ladrick's beautiful rendition of the national anthem. Boy Scout Troop 201 laid the memorial wreath donated by Bloomers Florist Designs and Eagle Scout bugler Steven Baker concluded the ceremony with Taps.  Thanks to all the Town of Sunset Beach officials who contributed to this outstanding event, to all who attended, and to all who have contributed so generously to help build the Veterans' Memorial.
